If anyone out there is going to Creation West and would like to post a recap, that would be awesome. Weather for Creation East: Maybe the best ever. 80's during the day, and 50's or lower at night. Not one drop of rain or even a gray cloud. The music was also fantastic this year. I didn't make it to the fringe, but friends did and they said it was rockin. Wednesday may have been the best opening night ever. Downhere opened, and they were outstanding. The worship band, whose name escapes me, was also stellar, as were all the worship bands for the week. David Crowder and Switchfoot closed it out and both were on their game. Switchfoot was especially good this year. They even gave the gospel. Gotta give them props for that. Red, Newsboys. and Casting Crowns took the stage thursday night. I missed Red, but the others were decent. Both Newsboys and Casting probably could have played longer. Friday was TFK, Chris Tomlin, and Toby Mac. Chris Tomlin is always good live. Toby took his rightful place as a closing act and didn't disappoint. The crowd was huge for his show. He also participated in candlelighting, which was cool. Saturday was Family Force 5, Tenth Avenue North, and Skillet. FF5 was interesting. Big crowd for their set. Tenth Avenue also was very good live. Skillet also took their rightful place as a closing band, and closed out the festival, perhaps as never before. We were treated to a rare double encore. The first encore featured two songs, with the 2nd being the big string of Rebirthing, and all of their best pyro in a big finish. That was followed by Creation's fireworks display in honor of the 4th of July, complete with America the Beautiful playing, and a nice finale. Then came the rare second encore where Skillet returned to introduce the massive grand finale, and play one more song. The music was excellent all week, and the speakers were good. My daughter enjoyed the children's activities and even sang many of the songs later on. She made a nice nail cross over at the Kids Grove. The weather was really nice and there was a nice breeze too. Great campfire and sleeping weather at night. The lookout was packed this year. The crowds were some of the biggest in recent years, especially the last two nights. All in all it was one sweet Creation. Those of you going to Creation West are in for something special! GMan
